Feliform

Cats are mysterious and cryptic creatures, and despite their overwhelming popularity, they remain aloof and are therefore hard to read. As a result, cats can be overlooked and misunderstood.

The aim with Feliform is to provide cats with environmental enrichment, but more importantly, it is to encourage more intimate and more frequent interactions between the human and the cat so as to yield more understanding and affection towards cats and in turn combat the notion of their aloofness. My degree project is a piece of furniture that consists of ‘modular’ cubes and triangles. These modules are hollow and serve to function as dens and as playgrounds for the cats, while simultaneously, also serving as seating for humans. These modules can be attached and detached from each other which allows one to combine their own set of modules and therefore configure their own unique Feliform however they see fit.

Feliform
