Bachelor/Interior Architecture & Furniture Design

In this project, I have created a series of furniture with complementary functions. I have worked with naturally tanned, Swedish-produced leather and Swedish pine and explored the significance of the materials’ properties in my design decisions.

By working with braiding in leather as a technique, sculptural element and pattern, I have examined what ornamentation can mean for contemporary furniture design.

Through this project, I want to highlight locally produced and sustainable materials for a long-lived design. In my furniture, I want to demonstrate the qualities of natural materials and honour their different character.

I detta projekt har jag skapat en serie möbler med kompletterande funktioner. Jag har arbetat med naturgarvat, svenskproducerat läder och svensk furu och utforskat vilken betydelse materialens egenskaper får i mina designrelaterade beslut.

Genom att arbeta med flätning i läder som teknik, skulpturalt element och mönster har undersökt jag vad ornamentik kan ha för betydelse i samtida möbeldesign.

Jag vill genom projektet framhäva lokalt producerade och hållbara material för en långlivad design. Jag vill i mina möbler påvisa egenskaperna i naturliga material och hedras deras olika karaktär.
