Master/Visual Communication

I started my degree project with the main goal of experimenting with the traditional narrative structure in comics.

With Connecting the Dots I am exploring and creating associative visual narrations with drawings, loop animations and objects. I use a fragmentary and non-linear way of conveying an impression, an idea or a thought. All the pieces are connected, but they can also stand alone.

At the centre of my artistic research are philosophical questions about the change of perspective, but without pressure of answering them.

What could the feeling of an ‘in-between’ look like?

Where and when does a transition start?

How do you describe processes that don’t yet have a name?

How can single pieces connect with a bigger picture?

Is motion making me wiser?

Jag började mitt examensarbete med huvudsyftet att experimentera med den traditionella berättarstrukturen i serier.

Med Connecting the Dots utforskar och skapar jag associativa visuella berättelser med teckningar, loop-animeringar och objekt. Jag använder ett fragmentariskt och icke-linjärt sätt att förmedla en känsla, idé eller tanke. Alla delar hör ihop men kan också stå för sig själva.

I centrum för min konstnärliga forskning står filosofiska frågor om ändrade synsätt, men utan pressen att behöva besvara dem.

Hur kan känslan av ett “mittemellan” se ut?

Var och när startar en övergång?

Hur beskrivs processer som ännu inte har ett namn?

Hur kan enstaka delar kopplas ihop med helheten?

Gör rörelse mig klokare?
