CRAFT! Textiles / Master

There Can Be More Than One.

For the last two years, the graduating CRAFT! students of 2020 have worked on their degree projects through crafts in text and form, through crafts in dialogue and opposition, through crafts both to gain and produce new knowledge. Through their education and their unique craftsmanship, the students have deepened their own knowledge and that of others.

There is not only one type of craft, but several. There is no fine print contract for what craft can be about. There is not a given aesthetic or forever-determined format to present in and there is not one canonised history. However, there are many wonderful and exciting knowledge traditions and magical materials that our students have researched this year and now present. So, it is not the education nor the subject area itself that says what craft can be – it is the students’ task to investigate what it is for them and for the audience they meet.
