An abbreviation of the words ‘wives’ and ‘girlfriends’, alluding here to women who are the partners of male athletes. My degree project is about the phenomenon that started in 2006 with Victoria Beckham, and which today, with the help of social media, has also made it to Sweden. It is a visual examination of how these women’s lives are controlled by their partners’ successful sports careers, and about the strong opinions and views surrounding their life choices.

Är en förkortning av “wives” och “girlfriends” och syftar på kvinnor som lever tillsammans med idrottsmän. Fenomenet WAGS startade med de brittiska tabloidernas besatthet av Victoria Beckham. Med hjälp av sociala medier är i dag många Sportfruar några av Sveriges största influencers. Detta är ett visuellt undersökande av att leva ett liv styrt av din partners framgångsrika sportkarriär, samt allmänhetens delade åsikter kring deras Livsstil.
